Anushka Shetty who portrayed the role of Princess Devasena in Baahubali is back almost after a year with her next flick, Nishabdam. Directed by Hemant Madhurkar, the film boasts of an ensemble cast including Anushka Shetty, R Madhavan, Shalini Pandey, Anjali, Subbaraju and Hollywood actor Michael Madsen in pivotal roles.

The makers unveiled Nishabdam’s first look on Wednesday featuring Anushka Shetty. Anushka will be essaying the role of a differently-abled(mute) artist named Sakshi in the thriller.

In the poster, Anushka is seen holding up a brush and running her hand across a canvas. Wearing a grey coloured outfit, Anushka bears a troubled expression on her face as she paints something on the canvas. She sports a new hairdo for the film, which is revealed in the poster. She is seen seated outdoors with a backdrop of the US city, Seattle’s skyline as she paints.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announce the news of the film alongwith its posters which he captioned , “Anushka Shetty in #Nishabdham… Costars R Madhavan, Anjali, Shalini Pandey, Subbaraju and Michael Madsen… Directed by Hemant Madhukar… Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Kona Venkat… In #Hindi, #Telugu, #Tamil, #Malayalam and #English.”

Nishabdam is a silent thriller and Anushka learnt sign language to make her character look more authentic, reported Pinkvilla.

The film is jointly produced by People Media Factory and Kona Film Corporation and will release in five languages i.e. Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam Hindi and English in 2020.
