Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is back in the director’s chair with a brand-new crime drama titled ‘Nishaanchi’. The first look poster of the film was recently unveiled by Amazon MGM Studios India on Instagram.

The poster features actors Zeeshan Ayyub, Monika Panwar, Vedika Pinto, Kumud Mishra, and newcomer Aishvary Thackeray. There’s a car, handcuffs, guns, and bundles of cash in the image, all the classic ingredients of a gripping crime story.

Earlier this year, in June, Anurag Kashyap had shared a teaser video that revealed the film is centred around the story of two brothers. But beyond that, not much was given away, until now.

In a press statement, Kashyap shared that ‘Nishaanchi’ has been in the works for a long time. “We wrote ‘Nishaanchi’ in 2016. I’ve been wanting to make this film the way it deserves to be made, but I needed a studio that truly believed in my vision,” he said. “Every film of mine that’s been loved has had that support. ‘Nishaanchi’ is about raw human emotions: love, lust, crime, power, betrayal, and redemption.”

He also spoke warmly about the team behind the film. “I’ve been lucky to work with some really good people, amazing actors, and the most beautiful crew. I can’t wait for audiences to see what we’ve created. We’re excited, nervous, and just really looking forward to releasing it in theatres this September,” he added.

The film is a production of Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh under the Jar Pictures banner, in collaboration with Flip Films. Both producers have previously worked on several well-received films and are known for backing strong, story-driven cinema.

‘Nishaanchi’ is going to hit the big screens on September 19, 2025.
