‘Golden’ wins Best Original Song
The film won Best Song for the hit track Golden. Songwriter EJAE, who is also the singing voice of the lead character Rumi, accepted the award along with co-writer Mark Sonnenblick. They were joined on stage by Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami who provided the singing voices for the other members of the fictional K-pop group Huntrix.
While accepting the award, EJAE shared an emotional moment. She said she wrote the song by stepping into Rumi’s world and feelings.
According to her, ‘Golden’ is about hope and believing in yourself, even when chasing big dreams feels scary.
Best Animated Feature win
The award for Best Animated Feature was accepted by directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans. They were joined by members of the voice and singing cast.
