Irrfan Khan, whom we have seen as a brilliant actor on screen, has emerged as a fighter in real life. The 51-year-old actor is currently undergoing treatment for a neuroendocrine tumor, a rare form of cancer, in London.

In a recent interview, the Blackmail actor opened up about the going through the treatment and what he has experienced in these days. Irrfan said, “I have had the fourth cycle of chemo. And I have to have six cycles and then we need to have a scan.”

“My mind could always tell me to hang a kind of chip on your neck and say, I have this disease and I could die in a few months or a year or two. Or I could just avoid this conversation completely and live my life the way it offers me,” he added.

Speaking of the clarity this phase has brought in his life, Irrfan said, “Clarity came like lightning. You stop your contemplation, you stop your planning, you stop the noise. You see the other aspect of it. It gives you so much. Life offers you so much. That’s why I feel like I have no other words but thanks.”

On the film front, Irrfan Khan would soon be seen in Karwaan also starring Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar, slated to release on 3 August. Other than that, he will feature in an indie film titled Puzzle alongside Kelly Macdonald.
