So far, the year 2017 has not been so fortunate for Bollywood as many big time releases were labeled as a huge disappointment while some content-oriented films made it big at the box office. From the looks of it, the audience is going for a better view of cinema and has opted for films that are relevant rather than illogical films with masala numbers just to get the attention. Have a little faith as the year still has its final quarter and some great films on your way to get excited about!

Chef: An adaptation of the original Hollywood film with the same title that was released in 2014.

High Point: The film, which will focus on a father-son relationship, features Saif Ali Khan and the newbie actor, Svar Kamble in lead roles. The film is about the importance of a father being there for his son as a father and a mentor. Saif will essay the role of a famous chef in the film and will try to work his way out to reconnect to his son who lives in India. From the looks of the trailer and short promos released so far, the dialogues and music looks quite appealing and we can expect an impressive performance by the Omkara actor Saif Ali Khan. The film will release on October 6.

Golmaal Again and Secret Superstar: It’s a Diwali bonanza for the fans as you don’t get one but two of the most awaited releases of the year.

High Point: Golmaal makes its comeback after a gap of seven years! The last film released in 2010, Golmaal 3 was a huge success and became the first trilogy in the Indian cinema. Director Rohit Shetty is known for this franchise because of the great chemistry between him and the entire cast of the team. We have seen the team created magic at the big screen in the earlier installments, and this time the central aspect of the film is even ‘Magic’. Slated for a Diwali release in a battle with Secret Superstar, the film will take you on a roller coaster ride.

The perfectionist returns to the big screen after his last film, Dangal, in a never before seen avatar as an arrogant and accomplished music composer.

High Point: Everyone is looking forward to Aamir’s upcoming film after the massive success of Dangal. The film will also feature Zaira Wasim as the Secret Superstar! The dialogues of the film, songs and cinematography, all looks solid and promising. Secret Superstar is all set to face a tough competition with Golmaal 4, who has already made a big name as a franchise, the victor of this battle will be decided on the judgment day but one thing is sure; to expect a bonanza Diwali this festive season.

Padmavati: An epic historical drama based on the life of Rani Padmavati.

High Point: What if you add an equation of Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali to a mix? Probably a masterpiece! There is no denying about the commendable performances of Bhansali as a director and the great star cast of the film who will deliver a classic through this epic drama. The recently released posters of the films look quite intriguing as from the get go, the film has generated immense buzz among the fans. Bhansali’s last film Bajirao Mastani was a masterpiece and swept numerous awards at various award shows. Now what magic can Padmavati create at the big screen is yet to witness.

Fukrey Returns: The crazy gang of four ‘fukras’ is all set to hit the floors on December 8.

High Point: When Fukrey was released, it went on to become one of the most successful films with small budget and instantly gained a cult following among the fans. Well now it’s time for the film to make its long awaited return after four years. Fukrey Returns will feature the entire cast from the previous film and explores more about the angle between Choocha and Bholi Punjaban, which in turn is an additional layer for this film to add comedic elements.

Tiger Zinda Hai: The next chapter in the lives of Tiger aka Salman Khan and Zoya aka Katrina Kaif.

High Point: The film marks the return of Salman and Katrina after a gap of five years, after the previous installment of the franchise. Also, Salman, who didn’t impress the audience with his last film, Tubelight, returns to his USP of action. The film is extensively shot in Abu Dhabi. Foreign action directors working on the film raised the action quotient of the film. Sultan director Ali Abbas Zafar promised the fans an action-packed ride with Tiger and Zoya. The trailer of the film is yet to release but the posts shared by the actors and directors has given a sneak peek into the film.
