The official trailer of a mini-series, Catch 22, starring George Clooney and Christopher Abbott, has been released by Hulu. Based on Joseph Heller’s novel of the same name, the 6-episode miniseries follows the journey of a WWII bombardier as he maintains his sanity while undertaking increasing dangerous missions.

Catch 22, a satirical anti-war novel was first published in 1961 and was first adapted into a film by Mike Nichols, The Graduate, starring Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft.

The trailer is dramatic and funny and the story still seems relevant even half a century after the book was published. Catch 22 series is headed by George Clooney and his writer-director partner Grant Heslov. Both will also be directing one episode each.

Written by Beautiful Boy fame writer Luke Davies and David Michôd (Animal Kingdom, The Rover), the star cast also includes Kyle Chandler, Hugh Laurie, Giancarlo Giannini and Daniel David Stewart.

The TV adaptation will debut on Hulu on May 17, 2019.
