There are some films that never grow old, and some stars whose magic never fades. Yash Chopra’s ‘Chandni’ is one of those classics, and the late Sridevi’s graceful charm in a flowing chiffon saree is still etched in the hearts of cinema lovers. This week, actress Shilpa Shetty decided to bring back that golden memory, turning Instagram into her personal movie set with a heartfelt nod to her “forever OG” Sridevi.
Draped in a stunning yellow chiffon saree, Shilpa looked like she had stepped right out of a Yash Chopra frame. The actress shared a reel where she twirled and posed during a photo-shoot, while the instrumental theme of ‘Chandni’ played in the background.

Her caption was simple: “My Ode to my forever OG Sriji #Chandni #Chandnivibes.”
Shilpa Shetty in her Sridevi zone:
Released in 1989, ‘Chandni’ was Yash Chopra’s big return to romance after a string of unsuccessful action movies.
Sridevi with her bright chiffon sarees, her innocence, her strength, and her unforgettable screen presence made ‘Chandni’ an instant classic.
The film told the story of Chandni Mathur, a young woman caught in a heart-wrenching love triangle. She is deeply in love with Rohit, played by Rishi Kapoor, but when tragedy strikes and he becomes paralysed, Chandni’s life takes a turn.
Moving to Mumbai, she finds kindness and affection in her boss Lalit, played by Vinod Khanna. Just when she begins to settle, Rohit returns to win her back, leaving Chandni with the toughest choice of her life. Alongside Sridevi, the film featured stalwarts like Waheeda Rehman, Anupam Kher, and Sushma Seth.
But what fans still remember most about ‘Chandni’ are the visuals. Sridevi danced in soft chiffon against the backdrop of the Swiss Alps, the soulful music, and her glowing screen presence.
On the professional front, Shilpa last appeared in ‘Sukhee’, a slice-of-life comedy about a woman rediscovering herself and reliving her youth.
Next in line, she has ‘KD: The Devil’, a Kannada action drama directed by Prem. The film boasts a powerful ensemble including Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, V. Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Reeshma Nanaiah, and Nora Fatehi.
