A working style that reminds him of Irrfan Khan
Speaking about Mona’s approach to acting, Mihir revealed how deeply she connects with her surroundings before performing. He explained that actors often try to sense the environment before shooting a scene, visualising themselves in that space.
According to him, he had heard similar things about Irrfan Khan, that the late actor would arrive early, observe everything, and mentally prepare for his performance.
Mihir believes this blend of activity and acting is what makes a performance feel natural. In his words, real life conversations happen while people are busy doing things, and acting should feel just as organic.
He also noted that this quality of absorbing the set, observing details, letting performance grow from the environment, is something Mona does effortlessly.
The young actor added that he finds this approach inspiring and hopes to carry it forward in his own career.
Punctuality, professionalism and on-set lessons
Mihir didn’t stop at creative praise. He also highlighted Mona’s discipline and professionalism. He said that if he started listing her qualities, the appreciation would never end. One trait he particularly admires is her punctuality.
He shared that actors usually wait for assistant directors to call them to the set, but Mona often takes initiative. If she is ready, she simply walks onto the set instead of waiting. Mihir described this habit as a major learning experience that he is still trying to apply in his own life.
For those unaware, Mona played Mihir’s on-screen mother, Vineeta, in the show. The cast also included celebrity chef and actor Ranveer Brar.
