Kareena Kapoor loves gossip, but she’s much more, says Soha Ali Khan

Imagine having a sibling who always knows the latest buzz but also keeps secrets like a pro. That’s how Soha Ali Khan described her sister-in-law Kareena Kapoor during a recent candid chat with Zoom.

Soha revealed that Bebo, as fans lovingly call Kareena, has this uncanny ability to know everything that’s happening around.

“She is definitely, definitely, a source of wealth of information that she has; I don’t know how. If I want to know something, then even at 12 o’clock I will ask her,” Soha laughed. But she was quick to add that Kareena is no careless chatterbox. “She’s very protective of her sources, and she will only tell what she is willing to share.”

While the gossip tag often follows Kareena, Soha stressed there’s a lot more to her than that fun side. “There’s so much more about her that is wonderful,” she said.

The actress also looked back at the very first time she heard about Kareena from her brother, Saif Ali Khan. The memory still makes her smile. “I remember my brother calling me when I was shooting something. He said, ‘I want you to know that my girlfriend is two years younger than you.’ And I was like, okay, great. That was my introduction,” Soha recalled.

Of course, knowing of someone and knowing someone are two very different things. Soha admitted that she didn’t form any opinion about Kareena before meeting her. But bonding didn’t happen instantly either.

“It takes time and trust and consistency to build a relationship with some people. And I felt like it took that time between Kareena and myself,” she shared.

Over the years, the two women have found common ground, especially through shared experiences within the family. “A few incidents over the past 10 to 12 years have perhaps brought us closer together,” Soha revealed.

On the career front, both women are busy with exciting projects. Soha Ali Khan last appeared in ‘Chhori 2’. Kareena Kapoor, meanwhile, is gearing up for ‘Daayra’, a Meghna Gulzar directorial announced in April 2025. The film will also star Prithviraj Sukumaran.
