The film has already earned attention for its fearless storytelling. It has a backing of Benaras Media Works and T-Series. The film aims to be conversation starter especially around justice and accountability.

Assi OTT release: When and where you can watch

‘Assi’ is officially ready for its OTT release on April 17, 2026. The film will stream on ZEE5.

‘Assi’ plot

At its core, ‘Assi’ is a courtroom drama wrapped inside a legal investigation thriller. The story focuses on unexplained sexual assault cases. An investigator and defense team dig deeper into records that seem too neat, too statistical, too incomplete.

As the case unfolds, narrative shifts from legal arguments to emotional weight. Film explores the trauma of survivor, cracks in the justice system, and also some uncomfortable truth hidden behind official reports and numbers.

According to the film’s description, it deals with uncovering “shocking truths hidden beneath statistics” while also aiming at exposing the human cost behind headlines.

‘Assi’ cast

The film brings together strong ensemble led by Taapsee Pannu. She plays an advocate navigating emotionally charged case. The survivor at the center, Parima, is portrayed by Kani Kusruti, while Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub plays Vinay, her husband.

The supporting cast has Manoj Pahwa as Deepraj, Kumud Mishra as Kartik, Revathy as Vasudha, Seema Pahwa, and Satyajit Sharma as defense lawyer Navratan.

The film also features Naseeruddin Shah and Supriya Pathak in special appearances.
