Sometimes reality shows bring drama that spills outside the screen, but veteran actor Ashish Vidyarthi has chosen a calmer route, as he recently opened up about his equation with Apoorva Mukhija (aka The Rebel Kid), whom he first met on the set of ‘The Traitors’.
Ashish described the meeting as refreshing. For him, it felt like stepping into a younger generation’s world and learning their style of expression.

“It was a completely new experience,” he said.
The controversy began after fellow actor Sudhanshu Pandey criticised Apoorva Mukhija during an Instagram Live, accusing her of speaking casually about Ashish Vidyarthi behind his back.
According to Sudhanshu, Apoorva had commented, “Mujhe lagta hai Ashish jayega” (I think Ashish will be out). He questioned her tone, saying, “Is this Gen Z style? Talking about someone older than your parents in such a way? This is not cool at all.”
While Sudhanshu’s remarks added fuel to the conversation, Ashish himself decided not to dwell on it.
The actor revealed that Apoorva reached out to him soon after. “She sent me a WhatsApp message saying, ‘Sir, I want to apologise.’ I told her there was no need. I had already spoken to her on set and told her she is a wonderful human being. It’s all good,” Ashish shared.
He also praised Apoorva’s journey, describing her as a woman with dignity who deeply values her family. “She has come a long way, and she should walk her own path rather than let others force her into a certain image,” he said.
Ashish even recalled their lighthearted exchange about meeting again: “She said she would like to have lunch with me someday. I told her, absolutely. If we are in the same city and time allows, we’ll surely do it.”
The actor stressed that he holds no grudges. “I have no hard feelings at all. In fact, I am very happy with our conversation,” he said.
