Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan has been in news ever since its animated teaser was unveiled. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead, makers are still looking for the male lead opposite the Vicky Donor actor to play his love interest in the film that revolves around LGBTQ issues.

In a recent development, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced that Aanand L Rai will now be co-producing the content-driven film with Bhushan Kumar.

” #Update: Aanand L Rai and Bhushan Kumar join hands… Will jointly produce content-driven cinema, starting with #ShubhMangalZyadaSavdhaan… Stars Ayushmann Khurrana… Directed by Hitesh Kewalya,” he wrote on Twitter.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is a sequel to the quirky comedy Shubh Mangal Savdhaan which featured Ayushmann Khurrana alongside Bhumi Pednekar.

The film will also see Ayushmann collaborate with his Badhaai Ho cast, Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao.

This stand-alone sequel will deal with the issue of homosexual love in a comic way and yet deliver the message it intends to.

Bhushan Kumar spoke of his collaboration with Aanand L Rai.

“I had earlier associated with Aanand L Rai for the music of his films — Tanu Weds Manu and Zero. He has a great music sense and now I am delighted to collaborate with him for movies too,” he said, quoted IANS.

Rai is equally excited about their collaboration. “I believe they add tremendously to a film like Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan with their understanding of music and the pulse of the audience. With our combined strengths, we hope to collaborate on scripts that are exciting, empowering and entertaining,” he added.

Written-directed by Hitesh Kewalya, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan will release on Valentine’s day next year, i.e. 14 February, 2020.
