Fans were enjoying his heartache-filled lyrics unaware that just a day earlier, a shocking discovery in Hollywood had sent shockwaves through his life and career. In the front trunk of his Tesla, authorities had found the body of 15-year-old runaway Celeste Rivas Hernandez leaving the world asking questions nobody could yet answer.

Celeste’s life, brief and fragile, had seen a frequent disappearances. The first-generation daughter of Salvadoran immigrants, she had grown up in Lake Elsinore, California, a quiet girl known to her neighbors as someone who loved small pleasures like candy and soda from the local corner store.

But her family’s concern began early. She first went missing on Valentine’s Day 2024 prompting a missing-person report the following day. Over the next two years, there were at least two more reports were as she occasionally ran away only to return home and resume her middle school life.

She wore a tube top, black leggings, jewelry, and had a small tattoo on her index finger that read “Shhh…,” echoing a tattoo on D4vd’s own finger.

While authorities have not named any suspects, the Los Angeles Police Department is treating it as an open death investigation. The medical examiner has deferred determining the cause of death warning it could take months to conclude.

In the wake of the discovery, the singer, born David Anthony Burke, has remained publicly silent. His spokesperson confirmed to the media that he is cooperating fully with authorities and has hired high-profile criminal defense attorney Blair Berk, who has represented stars including Mel Gibson, Lindsay Lohan, and Kanye West.
