A journalist working with a TV channel was targeted by two men in a frightening chase as she drove home from her office in Noida’s Sector-129 late on Thursday night. The woman was travelling in her car to her residence in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj when the incident unfolded.

According to the journalist, the two men on a scooty began following her Ford Figo on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. They repeatedly tried to get her to stop, making gestures and attempting to block her vehicle. In an attempt to scare them off, she started recording them on her phone. The situation escalated when, slowed by traffic, the pillion rider, identified as Shubham, jumped off the scooty and banged on her car’s windscreen before trying to open her locked door.

She managed to speed away onto the DND Flyway, but the men pursued her. While on the move, she contacted a colleague who advised her to keep driving and not stop. The assailants then escalated the attack, with Shubham using a wooden object to smash the car’s rear windscreen and left rear window.

Her ordeal only ended when she reached the Lajpat Nagar area and a group of alert taxi drivers came to her aid after she signaled for help. They instructed her to pull over, and upon doing so near Gupta Market, the two men on the scooty fled the scene.

The police were contacted and arrived promptly. After recording her statement, they instructed her to file a formal First Information Report (FIR). Both suspects, identified as Deepak and Shubham from Delhi’s Dabri area, have since been arrested. The duo, who work as bartenders, were allegedly intoxicated at the time of the incident and have several prior criminal cases registered against them.
