Delhi: Rekha Gupta-led govt to invoke DDMA Act, empower DMs to act against unauthorised construction
At the meeting, the government took the decision to invoke the Delhi Disaster Management Act 2005.

Amid tight security, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday held Jan Sunwai programme at her official residence for the first time after she was attacked last month.
The Jan Sunwai was held amid tight security. In a video shared by a news agency, a female security personnel was seen standing right beside CM Rekha Gupta as she heard grievances of the people.

CM Gupta was allegedly attacked by a Gujarat man, identified as Rajesh Khimji, during the Jan Sunwai programme on August 20.
Following the attack, the Delhi Chief Minister’s security was beefed up. She was given a Z category CRPF security.
The incident occurred during the weekly Jan Sunwai programme when Rajesh approached her, handed over a paper, suddenly shouted, slapped her, pulled her hair, and hurled abuses, as per the police.
As per Delhi Police sources, a heavy object was hurled at her, causing her to fall to the ground.
The police arrested the suspect and charged him under several sections of the BNS, including attempt to murder.
