Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva on Wednesday said that the national song, Vande Mataram, praises the motherland and symbolizes the country’s freedom and prosperity.
He said the song has not only ignited patriotic feelings amongst people but also has been inspiring the citizens to work to undertake nation building for the past 150 years.

The BJP leader was speaking at a seminar at Delhi University’s Sri Aurobindo College on the completion of 150 years of Vande Mataram. On the occasion, he shared thoughts regarding patriotism and respect for the country with the students and the college faculty.
Addressing the students, he said the national song was written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. It was taken from his novel “Anandamath” in Banali.
The status of the national song was accorded to Chatterjee’s creation on January 24, 1950.
According to Sachdeva, the song has a unique energy and gives power to the mind and ignites dedication towards nation’s service.
This song inspires every youth to love the country and also provides positive energy, the BJP leader added.
