Ahead of LS polls, 70343 licensed firearms deposited in Himachal Pradesh
Revealing this, a spokesperson of the Himachal Pradesh Election Department here on Tuesday, said: “Besides, these 3278 weapons have been impounded or cancelled.”
Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s daughter Namita Bhattacharya along with family members immersed the late senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader’s ashes in Beas river in Manali in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, around 250 km from here.
Vajpayee’s daughter, who had arrived at his second home in Prini on Wednesday, became emotional during immersion of ashes in Beas river. She was accompanied by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, Forest minister Govind Thakur, MP Ramswaroop Sharma, MLA Surender Shourie, DC Yunus, SP Shalini Agnihotri along with others.
Earlier, CM the home of former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Prini in Manali of Kullu district and called on his daughter Namita Bhattacharya and other family members.

He also visited Vashisht along with the family members of the late Prime Minister where the ashes of Vajpayee were immersed in Beas river and Puja was performed for the peace of the departed soul.
