After travel mart, EHTTOA upbeat

The Eastern Himalaya Travel and Tour Operators’ Association (EHTTOA), which organized the Bengal Travel Mart (BTM)-2018 in Siliguri very recently, has said that the initiative will “ help the tourism industry in the region, as 104 buyers from India and abroad, including Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and especially Russia, participated in the event.

The third edition of the BTM was held from 16 to 18 February at Baghajatin Park in Siliguri, in association with the state tourism department and the North Bengal Development Department.

EHTTOA general secretary Sandipan Ghosh said that the BTM brought together tourism stakeholders from all over India, including West Bengal and neighboring countries.

“A panel discussion on ‘The need for perception management in tourism growth’ was very interesting and local tourism fraternity represented well,” Mr Ghosh said.

BTM conveners, including EHTTOA president Debashis Maitra, claimed that the the 3rd edition of the BTM was “definitely the biggest platform” till date for the promotion of tourism in Bengal and beyond.
