Two persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in an attack on a traffic police officer on duty in north Delhi’s Timarpur, officials said on Friday.
“Two persons involved in the assault have been arrested, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the remaining accused,” said a senior officer.

A video that surfaced online reportedly showed the on-duty officer being manhandled.
According to police, the officer was on challan duty when he signalled a motorcyclist to stop. Instead of complying, the rider allegedly attacked him. Soon after, several other men joined in and assaulted the officer.
Police said a case has been registered under sections related to obstructing a public servant from performing official duties, assaulting or using criminal force to deter a public servant, and voluntarily causing hurt to prevent a public servant from discharging duty.
A police source added that the officer’s mobile phone was also snatched during the scuffle. “Further investigation into the incident is underway,” the officer stated.
