Three juveniles have been taken into custody for their alleged involvement in sexual assault on a minor boy, the Delhi Police said on Wednesday.
According to the police, the trio were apprehended within 24 hours of the crime and have been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

“The matter came to light on Tuesday when a relative of the victim lodged a complaint,” said Nidhin Valsan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central District).
Adding to his statement, he said the complainant stated that the minor was lured by three boys to a secluded rooftop where he was allegedly sexually assaulted.
The DCP stated that the accused allegedly threatened to harm the child if he disclosed the incident to anyone.
The police stated that an FIR under Section 6 of the POCSO Act has been filed and an investigation was promptly initiated.
A special team was formed under the supervision of the concerned Station House Officer (SHO) and overall guidance of the area’s ACP. The team comprised SI Savita, Constable Sandeep Bhati, Constable Amit Kumar, and Constable Shubham.
Using intelligence from their local network, the police conducted multiple searches and arrested all three juveniles within hours.
As per the DCP, the prompt response of the police team ensured the accused was apprehended without delay.
“The police acted on the victim’s statement as well as intelligence. Our top priority was the child’s safety and taking swift action against the perpetrators,” he said.
Further investigation into this case is ongoing by the officers.
