Three children drown in a pond in Bihar

Three children drowned in a pond in this south Bihar district during immersion of an idol today, officials said.

The incident took place at Rasalpur village where siblings Suraj Kumar and Jyoti Kumari and their cousin Ankit aged between 10 and 13 years slipped and fell into deep waters while immersing the idol, Kako Block Development Officer, Navkunj Kumar said.

No adult family member was accompanying the children.

Kumar, who along with Circle Officer Vishnudayal Rai paid a visit to the village, said “the grieving family members will be given proper compensation. Bodies of all the deceased have been sent for post-mortem”.
