Potholes are everywhere, in almost every city – big or small. From the small ones that play the role of ‘unofficial’ speed-breakers to the large ones that appear like signatures of asteroids – we have potholes of all shapes and sizes.

And while many of us keep blaming the system for the roads that give us a bumpy ride, we have only a few who take up the onerous task of doing something to fix the problem.

Sai Reddy is one such individual.

On the occasion of Ugadi, the Hindu new year for Telugu and Kannada people, Sai Reddy decided to do what is generally the role of the civic administration. He took a spade and started filling potholes at JJ Nagar in Neredmet area of Hyderabad.

Reddy, who is a Home Guard officer with Malkajgiri traffic, was seen covering the holes with earth. He continued with the work under the sun for the safety of the commuters who take the JJ Nagar ‘U’ turn.

The potholes in the area cause traffic woes to the commuters besides posing a constant threat of accidents.

Reddy’s noble deed did not go unnoticed. People on Twitter praised the cop and thanked him for his taking up the responsibility of fixing a problem instead of cribbing about it.
