Six-year-old boy stabbed in Lucknow school by ‘senior girl’

A six-year-old Class I student in Lucknow was found outside the toilet of his school in a pool of blood on 16 January. Police on 17 January said that he was stabbed by a senior girl.

The incident happened at Brightland School in Triveni Nagar. The boy, Ritik, was found unconscious and was immediately rushed to the Trauma Centre at King George’s Medical University (KGMC) where he is recovering.

An FIR has been registered at the Aliganj police station against an unidentified student.

School Principal Reena Manas said that the crime occurred in the second floor bathroom after the morning assembly.

According to reports, the boy said that he was thrashed and stabbed in the bathroom by a ‘didi’ who was sporting a boy-cut hair style.

Though the school has CCTV cameras, there is none near the bathroom. The police are now waiting for the boy to recover fully and identify the girl.
