American national illegally living in India held by SSB near Nepal border
The apprehended American national entered India via the sea route in November 2025 and had been residing in Goa since then.
Seven persons, including a woman and two children believed to be from Nepal, were killed in a head-on collision between a tanker and a car in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, police said.
The crash occurred on the Gorakhpur-Sunauli road near Devpur village in Maharajganj district, near the Nepal border, around 2 p.m.

One seriously injured man has been sent to the Community Health Centre in Bankati, a police official said. His condition remains critical.

The tanker was coming from Nepal to Gorakhpur when it rammed head-on into the car.
All the passengers in the car were reportedly from Nepal. Their identities are yet to be ascertained.
