Separated from wife, Narela man absconding after killing 10-year-old son

A man murdered his 10-year-old son in Delhi’s Narela, an area that lies in the outer north of the city, the police said on Wednesday.

The incident came to light on Tuesday, when the mother of the deceased child, Komal, who is living separately from her husband due to a dispute, informed the police about the matter. As per the statement of Komal, her husband, Narender, allegedly killed his minor son before informing her about the crime.

She further alleged that, because of the dispute between her and Narender, she, along with her two children, has been residing separately. “My younger son had gone to school today but did not return. Later, my husband, Narender, told me that he had killed him,” she alleged in her statement.

Based on the statement of the complainant, an FIR was registered at the Narela police station, a senior police officer said. “On Tuesday, we were informed that the body of a 10-year-old child had been found with visible injury marks on his neck,” he added.

“An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and efforts are being made to apprehend the absconding father, who has been accused for his involvement in this case,” the officer said.
