Delhi: Elderly woman hit by speeding vehicle, dies
According to police, the 65-year-old woman, who was identified as Janki Kumari, died after she was allegedly hit by a speeding car near her house in Jheel Khurenja area near Geeta Colony.
A 35-year-old woman, posted as District Town Planner (DTP) of Rewari a month ago, was killed in a road accident on Tuesday, an official said.
Poonam, who was based in Sector 15 here with her family, was killed in a collision near Shahabad on National Highway 1, about 210 km from Gurugram, a senior official said.
She had joined as DTP Rewari, some 55 km from here, a month ago.

“She was to appear in the Punjab and Haryana High Court in Chandigarh on Tuesday. Hanuman Dass, a draftsman from the office, was also with her,” Dharmender Dhawan, assistant account officer at Rewari office, told IANS.
Dass was critically injured in the incident.
Earlier, she was posted in Gurugram as Assistant Town Planner and Town Planner at HSIIDC in Faridabad.
Her husband, Ashok Kumar, is a senior journalist with a national English daily and hails from Urban Estate area of Haryana’s Jind.
Director Town and Country Planning and other senior officials were on their way to Jind to take part in the funeral.
