Sambalpur police arrest 5 in connection with Thelkopada double murder case

Town police arrested five other persons in connection with most gruesome Thelkopada double murder cases that happened in speedy intervals on Monday forenoon.

The murders took place for long rivalry between two groups where a previous NSA arrested is the main accused and also the kingpin of the crime, informed the SP of Sambalpur Sanjeev Arora.

“The arrested persons are Jimmy Mukhi, Rabi Kansari, Krishna Suna, Bikash Kansari and Dev Mukhi. Police is also in search of the other accused and conducting raids in different probable places of their secret ensconce,” Arora, the SP added.

“With arrest of the five persons, the total number of arrests has reached seven and it is sure to be more since not a single accused will be spared,” he said further. Since, both the groups are remaining in revengeful mode, massive police forces have been deployed inside the concerned Pada and police is keeping watch on the activities of the some of the residents.

Further, police remain alert round the clock in view of the grave situation and avert any further untoward happening. Interestingly, though two murders have taken place in one Pada in one day, but the anti group of Pandav Mukhi gheraoed the office of the Superintendent of police and Collector of Sambalpur on Tuesday demanding stringent action against Pandav.

“Since, Pandav initiated the crime, our boys got angry and retaliates to take revenge only,” they said before police and media. Otherwise, our intention was not to commit any crime or murder, they said.

But town police confirmed the deceased that Sujit Nag killed by Pandav is also a veteran criminal and a number of cases of grievous nature were pending against him.
