Rekha Gupta lays foundation stone for water pipeline project in BSF’s Chhawla camp

In a major reprieve to Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Chhawla camp and the inhabitants of neighbouring villages who have long been grappling with the non-availability of drinking water pipeline, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday laid the foundation stone for a clean drinking water project in the area.

The upcoming project will not only provide water supply to the BSF camp, but also will be a relief for the residents of the nearby villages in the area.

Notably, the water pipeline, connected to the Dwarka Water Treatment Plant, will be laid from Chhawla BSF Camp to the phirni road of Chhawla village.

Gupta, while speaking on the occasion, said that the state government is continuously working to strengthen infrastructure for the force personnel, civilians, and rural communities, adding that projects related to the welfare of force personnel are being taken up on a priority basis.

Sharing that she learnt about the water supply issues faced by the BSF personnel during her recent visit to the Chhawla Camp, Gupta said that with the project now underway, the problem will soon be resolved.

She also celebrated the festival of Bhai Dooj with the BSF personnel, saying that the brave soldiers protecting the nation’s borders are “the shield of the country” and that ensuring their welfare is the government’s duty.

She said that every soldier guarding the nation’s borders is a source of pride for all countrymen, adding that it was due to the dedication of the forces that 1.4 billion Indians live in peace and security.
