Rains brought relief to Delhi and Noida from the hot and humid weather conditions on Wednesday even as the IMD issued a yellow alert for the capital.
The latest weather update forecasts rainfall across multiple Delhi areas — including Shahdara in the East, Central, North, South, and West Delhi — likely accompanied by thunder and strong winds in the coming hours.

The national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 25.6°C today, 0.5°C above the seasonal average, the weather office said. The relative humidity was 82% at 8:30 am, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach 35°C. The city’s air quality was rated ‘Moderate’ with an AQI of 114.
The IMD has forecast partly cloudy skies for Delhi today. “Delhi may experience light rains from September 16 to 19 due to the interaction between a western disturbance and a low-pressure area over the southwestern states. Following this, it will take a few days for the conditions to meet the criteria for monsoon withdrawal, which is expected around September 22-23,” said a senior official of the MeT department.
He further said, “For the monsoon to be declared withdrawn from a region, specific conditions must be met, including at least five consecutive dry days, anticyclonic winds, and a significant fall in humidity.”
