NTPC Kaniha holds vocational training on mushroom culture

NTPC Talcher Kaniha under its CSR initiative organised vocational training programme on Mushroom Cultivation for Self Help Groups and unemployed rural youth of nearby villages to promote income and self-reliance.

The training will be of two weeks period duration. The training programme was inaugurated by K. S. Sarma, AGM(HR) in presence of P. K. Sahu, DGM(HR), A. K. Das, Sr. Manager(HR) and M. V. Rao, ES(HR).Sarma said that the training agency should focus on the methods of mushroom cultivation & at the same time provide marketing facilities to the participants for the sale of mushroom in the market.

It is important because the mushroom are of perishable nature and it cannot stocked for long duration. P. K. Sahu, DGM(HR) spoke on how the trainees can get additional income.

Institution for Development and Implementation of Techniques (IDIOT), Dhenkanal has been entrusted the task of training the group.

60 trainees will be benefited from 5 villages. Each group will be given training to cultivate mushroom in five villages i.e Bhimkand, Lohdabanda, Gadashila ,Karadei and Kateni.

The agency will provide necessary facilities like preparation of bed, bamboos, compost & manure for cultivation.
