Jabalpur to get air connectivity from Delhi, Mumbai from March
The flight connecting Jabalpur to Delhi and Mumbai will be operated by SpiceJet, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said on Tuesday.
A National Law University will be set up soon in Jabalpur. Three other private universities will also be opened in Chhatarpur, Balaghat and Khandwa.
Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Minister Jaibhan Singh Pabaiya (in photo) told The Statesman that a new National Law University will be set up in Jabalpur city, which houses the principal seat of the MP High Court.
Pabaiya also said the Chief Justice of the High Court will be the Chancellor of the upcoming law university in Jabalpur and the Bhopal National Law Institute University. A proposal to amend the National Law Institution University (NLIU) Act, 1997, will be tabled in the Assembly.

“A decision has been taken in a recently held cabinet meeting to open a new law university and three other private universities in the state,” Pabaiya said.
“The Chief Justice of the MP High Court will be the Chancellor for both the National Law Universities of the state,” he added.
The Japbalpur varsity will be the second law university in the state. There is another National Law Institute University in Bhopal. A vice-chancellor’s post is to be created in place of the director’s post.
There are 12 government law universities under the NLIU Act, 1997, and they are affiliated to the University Grants Commission and Bar Council of India.
At present, the government cannot impose Section 52 of the University Act, 1997, in the event of any unlawful situation in the National Law Institute University, Bhopal campus, because it doesn’t come under this Act.
After passing the amendment Bill in the assembly, both law universities will come under Section 52 of the Act.
