Over a week after a nursing student of Meerut Medical College was thrashed by a group of Hindu activists along with her Muslim friend, the three cops who were found misbehaving and beating her in a viral video have been transferred while under suspension.

The PRO to SSP Brijesh Kumar Sharma confirmed the transfer. The PRO said that head constable Salem Chand and constable Nitoo Singh have been transferred to Gorakhpur while lady constable Priyanka has been shifted to Varanasi.

The three cops were identified in a video which went viral on social media which showed activists from a Hindu group manhandled and misbehaving with the victim and her Muslim classmate. They were also seen using abusive language and slapping the girl when escorting her in a police vehicle.

Both the girl and her Muslim classmate were made to sit for several hours in the police station and allegedly mistreated.

All three cops were suspended and a departmental enquiry ordered against them.
