Due to low visibility at a national and international level and lack of market, Odisha is not attracting sufficient project proponents despite its resources, said Dr Tapan Kumar Chand at a function of Indian Journalists Union (IJU) here. He urged the media fraternity to highlight Odisha’s strength, so that industrial investment climate gets a boost and enough jobs are created.

Dr. Chand said that media is more than a mirror of public opinion. While it reflects true & fair picture of public opinion it also very often generates and promotes public opinion. Journalists including K. Sreenivas Reddy, General Secretary D.

Amar and Vice President of International Federation of Journalists Ms. Sabina Inderjit were present on the occasion. S.N. Sinha, IJU President, said, “Our vision is to make democracy more vibrant, but democracy can’t survive without media. We are committed to Free Press so that it benefits society.’’
