Man stabbed to death while trying to save wife from molester

A man was stabbed to death after he intervened to stop molestation of his wife from a harasser in the Seemapuri area, police said on Tuesday.

The police said they received information about the incident at 11:56 pm on October 27.

Upon arriving at the scene, the wife of Akbar Ali, the deceased, told the police that a man, later identified as Muslin, made a lewd remark at her. When she objected to his behavior, he continued to hurl abuses at her and then assaulted her.

Her husband intervened to save her. Just then, Muslin’s uncle arrived and attacked Ali with a knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds. He suffered severe injuries and later succumbed to them.

Later, crime and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams inspected the incident site.

A case of molestation and murder has been registered, and an investigation is underway. The police added that the accused have been arrested.
