West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday condoled the death of Union Environment Minister Anil Dave.

"Saddened at the sudden passing of Union Minister Anil Dave Ji. Condolences to his family, friends and colleagues", she said in a tweet.

60-year-old Dave had complained of uneasiness at his home this morning and was rushed to AIIMS where he passed away, according to official sources.

Suvendu Adhikari claimed that the memory of the 21 July martyrs had been exploited for political and personal gain.

This year, for the first time since the formation of TMC in 1998, four political formations are claiming the legacy of July 21.

Banerjee, however, added that the rebels who left the party will not return as they have already struck a deal with the BJP.
