Two killed as bus carrying 25 overturns in Delhi’s Karol Bagh
The Delhi Fire Services confirmed the fatalities, while multiple rescue teams were rushed to the spot to assist those trapped in the bus.

Several senior officials of the Delhi government, including Chief Secretary of the Government of NCT of Delhi, Dharmendra; MCD Commissioner Ashwani Kumar; Additional Commissioner Jitendra Yadav; Deputy Commissioner of Karol Bagh Zone, Swetika Sachan; and other senior officers of the civic agency took part in the drive, showcasing their commitment to a garbage-free Delhi.

Speaking about the initiative, the Mayor of Delhi, Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh, affirmed the MCD’s resolve to eliminate garbage from the city. “Inspired by the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and under the leadership of Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, Delhi, is determined to win the fight against waste and build a cleaner, more sustainable future,” he said.

Earlier, on August 1, CM Gupta rolled out a month-long campaign, “Delhi Ko Koode Se Azaadi” to make the national capital clean and free from waste. The Chief Minister led the sanitation mission of Delhi by initiating the cleaning of the premises of Delhi’s women and child department in the Kashmere Gate area, aligning with the Swachh Bharat Mission of the Prime Minister.
