“Indian positions retaliated effectively. Intermittent shelling and firing exchanges continued till 4.30 am on Friday.

“A woman identified as Noor Jahan was injured when a splinter fired from across the LoC hit her home. She was shifted to a hospital,” a police officer said.

Last month, an Indian Army soldier was killed as Pakistani troops initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate shelling in the Krishna Ghati (KG) sector along the Line of Control (LoC).

The martyred soldier was identified as Naik Thorat Kiran Popatrao (31) of village Fakirabad Wadi, District Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
