Delhi Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh on Tuesday inaugurated the road strengthening work undertaken by the Public Works Department (PWD) in North-West Delhi’s Rohini, Sector 20, and instructed the officials to make sure that the project is completed on time.
Over a period of time, several internal roads in the area had broken as a result of which residents are facing difficulties in commuting, especially during the monsoon season.

The minister also directed PWD officials to ensure that the work is done maintaining highest quality standards so that the public does not face problems.
Notably, under this project, dilapidated roads will be repaired which connect Pocket 10 to Pocket D-4, Pocket 14 to Pocket C-1, Pocket 8 to Pocket 9, Pocket B to the park, Pocket 13 to Pocket 9, and Pocket 5 to Pocket 6, in the area.
On the occasion, Indraj stated that the Delhi government is committed to providing better infrastructure to its citizens. “Given the poor condition of roads in the area, this initiative will ease mobility for residents and improve their overall quality of life,” he said.
The minister also conducted an on-site inspection of the area with local residents. During the visit, he directed MCD and other concerned officials to prioritize essential civic works such as waste management, park maintenance, drainage and sewer cleaning, street lighting, and road repairs.
He gave clear instructions to the civic body officials to consistently resolve complaints related to basic amenities received during the public hearings in a timely and effective manner.
