In the Delhi pro-Naxal protests carried out under the semblance of agitation against air pollution at India Gate, police have traced alleged Naxalite links of Akshay ER, the protester accused of attacking a police official with chili spray.
“His cell phone was seized. The search history shows videos and links about Naxalites that were found in his phone,” said the police probe copy.

A police source said that during the examination of his phone, they learned Akshay has connections with Naxalites. A copy of a document mentioning this is with the UNI News Agency.

Police stated that the Bhagat Singh Chatra Ekta Manch (BSCEM) group played a major role in the protest. Akshay is reportedly the main figure of the group, while Gurkirat is its president, and her sister Ravjot is the group’s admin.
“Akshay is the main conspirator. His search history shows videos and links about Naxalites were found on his phone. There is a text in his phone sent by Gurkirat discussing Madvi Hidma, referring to him as a hero and not as a Naxalite,” the police probe stated.
A photo of Akshay went viral during the protest on November 23, showing him being pinned down by police. The police say they had to pin him down in an attempt to take the chili spray from him. Akshay allegedly sprayed the chili into the eyes of Constable Ishant, and one chili spray bottle was recovered from him.
Police have claimed that another accused, Gurkirat, is the president of the BSCEM. “They had a clear agenda as well as preparation to raise slogans in support of slain Naxalite Madhvi Hidma during the protest, which was called in the name of air pollution,” police said.
The police have also claimed that Kranti, alias Priyanshu Singh, did not provide his cell phone number and was misleading the investigation.
Additionally, police claim that a screenshot taken on November 22 from the phone of another accused, Vishnu Tiwari, shows they were spreading fake information that Madvi Hidma, one of India’s most wanted Maoist commanders and a Central Committee leader of the CPI (Maoist), was killed on the pretext of surrender.
A total of two FIRs have been lodged by the Delhi Police against 23 protesters. All the accused are currently in judicial custody.
