More than 1 crore trees to be planted across state, says Suvendu Adhikari
The Bengal Chief Minister launched the green drive at the state-level World Environment Day celebrations organised by the state government in Nalban.
A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP on Monday strongly remarked that "India will be saved if cows are allowed to survive".
"Gai bachegi to Hindustan bachega. (India will survive only if cow survives)," BJP MP Shankarbhai N Vegad said.

The MP also claimed that cow urine can be used to cure cancer if used in a proper manner.

“Gaumutra" (cow urine) wards off germs. We will have to save the cow,” Vegad said.
The BJP Rajya Sabha member from Gujarat made the remarks while taking part in the 2017-18 budget discussion.
