Taking a satirical dig at the alleged unemployment during the BJP rule, Congress lawmakers in Haryana on Tuesday sold pakodas near the State Legislative Assembly where the Budget Session is going on these days.

Congress MLAs led by the Congress Legislative Party leader in Haryana Assembly Kiran Choudhary sold Pakodas as a protest against the alleged failure of the BJP rule, both at Centre and Haryana, in providing employment to youths as promised before coming to power.

Though initially, the Congress legislators planned to sell pakodas in Assembly premises, however, they were stopped by the police while they marched towards the Assembly.

Interacting with the mediapersons, Congress leaders, including Choudhary, Karan Dala, Geeta Bhukkal and Kuldeep Sharma, said the BJP government, at the Centre and Haryana, had promised to create jobs for the unemployed but now they were assuring ‘pakoda jobs’ to millions of people looking for work.

The Congress leaders carried placards, displaying categories of pakodas (photo) named after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar and other ministers in the Khattar Cabinet.

However, chief minister Khattar stole the show when on his way to the State Assembly, he stopped his cavalcade and got down from his vehicle to buy pakodas from Congress MLAs.

After buying pakodas, Khattar said: “If anyone is getting employment by selling pakodas, then it is a good thing. The Congress MLAs are unemployed these days as they are the part of the Opposition. Now they have got the pakodas selling job, which is a good thing.”

Taking a jibe at Congress MLAs selling pakodas Haryana’s agriculture minister OP Dhankar said the Congress was in the habit of “insulting poor and aspirational Indians.”
