Hostels for SC, BC students in 11 districts

Chandigarh, April 4 – Haryana Chief Minister (CM), Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday said hostels would be opened for the students of scheduled castes and backward classes in 11 districts.

Addressing members of Valmiki Community, who called on him at his residence today, the CM said recruitment of 38,000 posts of group ‘D’ would be conducted soon to provide job opportunities to the youth of the state especially those belonging to poor families.

Khattar said now, there would be no condition of education in the recruitment of sweeper-cum-watchman. Antodaya Seva Kendra would be opened in seven districts after which, it would be opened in all districts at sub-divisional level.

He said that the present government is working to uplift the poor whereas the previous government was concerned only about their home and their family.

“The aim of our government is also to provide the poor with health, education and respect besides provides food, cloth and house. If the poor becomes self sufficient then the entire society would be prosperous and happy,” the CM
added.

An official spokesperson said while communicating directly with the CM, members of Valmiki community said that various works of the present government have benefitted the poor, which included providing jobs on the basis of merit, for having educated panchayats, an increase of Rs 1,900 per month in the salary of safai karamcharis and transparency in development works, which has reposed their faith on the present government..

“The people of the community expressed their gratitude to the CM for several welfare measures taken by the state government for the welfare of Valmiki Community such as opening of Sanskrit University, in the name of Maharishi Valmiki in Kaithal, constitution of Haryana Safai Karamchari Aayog, for providing plots to the victims belonging to the community of village Mirchpur on an area of 7.5 acres in village Dhandhur, for initiating provision of reservation in the contract basis recruitment and to remove the backlog of jobs of Scheduled Castes category,” the spokesperson added.
