Haryana: Two held for demanding Rs 50 lakh from bizman

In a case of extortion, Haryana Police has arrested two persons for demanding Rs 50 lakh from a Faridabad-based entrepreneur, Ashwani Panchal.

While stating this on Monday, a spokesman of Police Department said that the accused have been identified as Gurudutt and Anil. Both were working as assistant general manager and deputy manager in a private limited company in Noida.

While Gurudatt is a distant relative of Panchal, Anil – a resident of Faridabad – is a friend of Gurudatt. They made an extortion call to Panchal in the name of Goonj Gang and threatened him to arrange Rs 50 lakh otherwise they will kidnap his son. After the arrest they admitted making the extortion call, the spokesman said.

He said that acting swiftly on the complaint of businessman, police had set up a special team who nabbed Rahul and Sushil Purohit from Mujesar police station area in mobile snatching incident.

In the initial interrogation, both accused revealed that they sold mobile phones to main accused of extortion call namely Gurudatt and Anil. Based on the information, police team immediately nabbed them.
