Members of the Gujjar community on Tuesday demanded that a CBI probe is ordered into the killing of an eight-year-old girl in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district about a fortnight ago.
A large number of protesters gathered at the Exhibition Ground and took out a rally towards the civil secretariat, demanding a CBI probe into the killing of the girl, whose body was found in a forest on January 17, a week after she went missing.

The protesters, who carried placards and shouted slogans, were stopped by police near the bus stand.

A special investigation team had nabbed a 15-year-old boy and claimed he had strangled the girl after she resisted his rape attempt.
The government had last week handed over the case to the Crime Branch.
