Former HP MLA alleges threat to life from son, daughter-in-law

A former Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Himachal Pradesh alleged threat to his life from his son and daughter-in-law in Chauntra area of Mandi district.

Police said the complaint pertains to a property dispute in Shimla over which the MLA Ram Singh has filed a complaint with them.

The alleged dispute over a shop located on Mall Road in Shimla and other properties reportedly took place on Friday and Saturday after which a complaint was filed with police.

In his complaint, Singh alleged that his son Chanderjit and daughter-in-law along with some other persons barged into his shop on 23 March and started demanding their share in the properties.

The former MLA further alleged that his son and daughter-in-law threatened to kill him if they did not get their share in the shop.

Meanwhile, the MLA’s son and daughter-in-law has also filed cross-complaint. A case has been registered in this regard and further investigations in the matter are on.

The 86-year-old Ram Singh had contested elections on Congress ticket in Mandi district and he had served as MLA during 80s.
