An Afghan man has been arrested in connection with stabbing a 20-year-old in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar, the police said on Monday.
Identified as Harun, the Afghan man along with his associate Kaifi Malik allegedly stabbed the youth, after they found him sitting in a park with Malik’s sister.
The victim Faiz Ali, who suffered multiple stab injuries, was hospitalised.
The incident was reported on Sunday afternoon when police got a PCR call.
According to the statement by the injured, he was sitting in a park with his female friend, and her brother Kaifi Malik along with his Afghan associate arrived, and questioned him as to why he was with her, further demanding to check his cell phone for call records.
Faiz refused to hand over the phone, following which Kaifi Malik and Harun stabbed him on his shoulders, back and hand.
The duo fled from the spot after attacking him.
A case under Section 307/34 (attempt to murder) has been registered by the police, and search is on to nab the other accused.
