The Delhi Government is organizing a series of programs to commemorate the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji in the national capital. The aim of this initiative is to raise awareness among the younger generation about the teachings and sacrifice of the revered Sikh Guru.
In this context, the Department of Art, Culture and Languages of the Delhi Government, along with the Punjabi Academy, organized the ‘Sarab Dharam Sammelan’ at the ICAR Convention Center, Pusa Campus, here today.

Addressing the gathering, Delhi Minister for Art, Culture & Languages Kapil Mishra stated that it has been 350 and a half years since the sacrifices of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and his companions, Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji. “On this occasion, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has decided that the Delhi Government would commemorate this through an unforgettable event,” he said.
He further said that over the next three to four months, various programs would be organized in remembrance of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s martyrdom. The event is being jointly organized by the Delhi Government and the Delhi Gurudwara Management Committee.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Delhi Government Minister for Environment and Forests, said that the sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is not just a part of Sikh history but a source of inspiration for all humanity.” This event conveys a message of unity, tolerance, and mutual respect. Through this commemoration, the Delhi Government aims to ensure that Guru Ji’s thoughts and sacrifice reach every segment of society,” he added.
“The events will be inclusive, respectful, and community-driven, ensuring that Guru Ji’s legacy remains alive in everyday life. The martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji teaches two simple truths: the essence of all religions is the same, and all human beings are equal; humanity stands above all discrimination,” Sirsa added further.
