In the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, Leader of Opposition Vikas Goyal made two proposals under section 74 in the meeting of North MCD House. The first resolution congratulated Sunita Mishra from Shalimar (East) Ward No. 62 and Ramachandra from Rohini C, Ward No. 32 for winning the Corporation by-election with the popular vote.

Vikas Goyal stated the victory of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on 4 seats in the by-elections of the corporations and the loss of 5 seats of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) occurred due to the corruption and misrule of the BJP in the corporations for the last 14 years. He went on to say that the people of Delhi have done away with BJP and given immense support and appreciation to the work done by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the public interest.

In view of the drastic defeat in the by-election, he has requested the Delhi government to take appropriate action to dissolve the three corporations with immediate effect.

Goyal termed the passing of the National Capital Territory (Amendment) Bill 2021 by the Central Government to Parliament as the death of democracy and betrayal of the people of Delhi. He said that the Chief Minister of the Aam Aadmi Party Government of Delhi halved the electricity bills, provided 20 thousand litres of free water, made available the facility of free bus travel to women, provided the facility of free pilgrimage to the elderly and it was due to the fear of this outstanding work especially in the field of education and health- which also received worldwide appreciation- that this Bill has been introduced, in which the elected government of Delhi has been made the puppet of the Lieutenant Governor and Center.

Vikas Goyal, through the Government of Delhi, has urged the Central Government to withdraw this ‘anti-people’ Bill without any delay. Further, speaking on the question of the Bhalswa landfill site, he stated that there has been a huge corruption in hiring trample machines and lifting garbage. He demanded an inquiry into the audit report on the Bhalswa landfill site saying that the guilty officers or leaders should not be spared and strict action should be taken against them.
