Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and briefed him about the city’s development, Clean Yamuna campaign, and Chhath festival preparations.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Gupta apprised the prime minister about the ongoing development work and other public welfare initiatives in the national capital.

She also informed him about the Delhi government’s sustained efforts to make the Yamuna river clean and pollution-free, and emphasised her administration’s full commitment to rejuvenating the holy river.
The measures taken in this regard include enhancing sewage treatment capacity, using modern wastewater treatment technologies, and strictly monitoring industrial effluents.
Additionally, green belts are being developed along the riverbanks, and measures are in place to prevent illegal dumping of waste into the river, CM added.
The chief minister also briefed Modi on preparations to make this year’s Chhath festival grand and auspicious. Arrangements include preparing ghats along Yamuna, lighting, cleanliness, drinking water, security, medical assistance, and mobile toilets, she stated.
She said the Chhath Mahaparv is a symbol of Indian culture and faith, and the Delhi government aims to ensure the festival is celebrated with devotion, piety, and cleanliness.
Gupta also briefed the PM on the ongoing welfare and infrastructure development projects in the capital, highlighting that the government is working swiftly in areas such as transportation, education, water supply, and urban redevelopment.
She also talked about the expansion of new healthcare facilities and Ayushman Arogya centres, which are further stepping up medical services for citizens.
CM has reiterated that the Delhi government is committed to building a ‘Viksit Delhi’, transforming the capital into a modern, clean, safe, and citizen-friendly city.
Gupta described the meeting with the PM as inspiring for Delhi’s development and public welfare.
Gupta was accompanied by her family on the occasion, including her husband and children.
She, later in a social media post praised PM Modi, stating that his presence and guidance inspire to work with greater dedication and new energy for the service of the national capital.
Sharing more on social media platform X, the BJP leader said after years, the country’s culture has blossomed again in the national capital with the fervour of Onam, the grandeur of Ramleela, Durga Puja, the rhythm of Garba, and the elaborate preparations underway for the grand Chhath Mahaparv.
This is the essence of ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ – respect, coexistence, and harmony, she added.
