Despite the city being lashed by continuous heavy rainfall since Friday night, it failed to dampen the spirit of Rakshabandhan as city dwellers celebrated the festival with full fervour.

As the city roads remained waterlogged in most of the areas, the localities opted for the Delhi metro services, as they ran completely packed while ferrying the people from one place to another. In a post on X, Indian Army’s Delhi Area posted about the celebrations carried out with the students from various schools in the city.

Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, joined the celebrations, interacting warmly with the children. The event strengthened the bond between the Armed Forces & the younger generation,” the post on X read.

The DCP Northwest Delhi also posted about the celebration with school children, stating that they celebrated the festival by renewing the pledge for their safety and well-being. Meanwhile, the Delhi police chose a creative way to promote road safety by tying Rakhis to the traffic violators. In the video shared on social media platforms, female officers were seen tying the sacred thread to the violators and asking in return a promise to not repeat the same.
